About Us
TicTacGo.org – a new puzzle every day
Welcome to TicTacGo.org! We're a small team of puzzle lovers who wanted to build the kind of game we'd happily play every day with our morning coffee: quick to pick up, genuinely tricky to master, and completely free.
Credit Where It's Due
Tic-Tac-Go was originally invented by Google as a Google Doodle Easter egg, and all credit for the game concept belongs to them. This site is an independent fan-made version and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.
What Is Tic-Tac-Go?
Tic-Tac-Go takes the tic-tac-toe board everyone knows and turns it into a block-pushing brain teaser. Instead of taking turns placing marks, you walk around the grid as a little round character and physically push the X and O pieces into position. Line up three O's in a row and you win – and since you count as an O yourself, the cleverest solutions often end with you stepping into the winning line. But if three X's ever line up, the puzzle beats you.
Our Mission
We believe a good puzzle should respect your time and your wallet. That's why Tic-Tac-Go is:
- Free forever – no paywalls, no accounts, no downloads. The site is supported by a few unobtrusive ads that never cover the game board.
- Daily – one new hand-crafted puzzle unlocks every single day, and the full back-catalogue stays open so you can binge earlier puzzles whenever you like.
- Fair – unlimited undo, a full rewind system, and a built-in Solve feature that reveals the answers mean you're never stuck for good. The challenge is in finding the best solution, not in being punished for mistakes.
- For everyone – the rules fit in one sentence, the puzzles are family-friendly, and the game plays just as well on a phone (swipe to move) as on a keyboard.
How the Puzzles Are Made
Every board is designed and play-tested by hand, then checked by our solver to make sure it has a valid solution. Early puzzles in the archive teach the core ideas – pushing, blocking, and using yourself as the third O – while later boards layer in walls, dead ends and X formations that demand real planning. Your best score for each puzzle (fewest moves, fastest time) is saved in your browser so you can keep beating yourself.
